Description

Brazilian Banco Central do Brasil (BCN) is the country's highest monetary authority. The bank's website posts bulletins, notes, standards and regulations, and statistics on the economy, finances, foreign exchange rates and payment systems, among others. Brazil's central bank is related to the government through the country's finance ministry and is a member of the national financial system. BCN also oversees commercial banks, multipurpose banks, development banks, credit, financing and investment companies, real estate firms, bonds and securities brokerage and distributing companies, savings and loans associations, among others.
