Banco de Seguros del Estado (BSE) is an Uruguayan state-owned bank providing insurance, reinsurance, annuities, pension fund management, retirement insurance, and related products and services. The bank operates under the Economy and Finance Ministry and is controlled by the Court of Auditors and the Central Bank. It has a nationwide network of branches and over 700,000 insurance policies in force. The bank offers insurance for cars, homes, life, travel, work-related accident, fire, cargo transport, industrial equipment, among others for individuals and companies. Banco Seguros del Estado was founded in 1911 and is headquartered in Montevideo.
