Vancouver-based Pan American Silver is engaged in the exploration, acquisition, development and operation of silver mines. The company has seven operating mines in Mexico, Peru, Argentina and Bolivia, including the Quiruvilca and Huarón silver mines in Peru. It also owns the Navidad project in Argentina and the La Preciosa project in Mexico. While silver makes up about half of total revenue, the company also mines copper, gold, lead, and zinc. In 2012, the company acquired compatriot Minefinders. Pan American Silver was founded in 1994.
