Guyana's Ministry of Natural Resources has responsibilities in the areas of forestry, mining, environmental management, wildlife, protected areas, land-use planning and coordination, and climate change. Within the ministry is the Environmental Protection Agency, the Guyana Forestry Commission, the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission, the Guyana Gold Board, the Guyana Lands and Surveys Commission, Guyana Wildlife, the National Parks Commission and the Protected Areas Commission. The Ministry of Natural Resources was created in 2012.
