Aegea Saneamento e Participações S.A. (Aegea) is a Brazilian water utility firm that forms part of Equipav, a group with operations in the water and waste, engineering, transport and agribusiness sectors. Aegea manages public concessions providing water storage, water collection and wastewater treatment. Founded in 2010 and based in São Paulo, the company has 31 contracts serving a total of 2.39mn residents in seven Brazilian states. The company's largest contract entails providing water supply and sewerage services in Mato Grosso do Sul state capital Campo Grande for 30 years. Aegea also holds an 851mn-real contract in Rio de Janeiro state, which calls for water supply and sewerage services in five cities. Signed in 1998, operations are being carried out by the company's local concessionaire Prolagos.
