National airport authority Infraero has launched a tender for a cargo terminal concession at Navegantes airport in Santa Catarina state.
Worth billions of dollars in total, the initiatives are intended to develop the southern regions of the country. The projects listed so far include energy, water and transport infrastructure, among others.
Public works minister Ramón Jimenez has also requested that the national comptroller audit the tender for the US$22mn overpass, for which the alleged bribe was made.
Authorities will start the process of terminating the US$275mn contract next week if the company continues to refused to restart works on the Puerta de Hierro-Cruz del Vizo highway.
Although the fund will be aimed at financing projects in Brazil, the works to be carried out will serve the interests of both countries.
As Brazil strives to recover from its economic crisis, governments are seeking private sector support to prepare upcoming infrastructure construction projects.
